Duckie News at 10, Warship Day at Etherow

The Warship Day was a good event, as you will notice I didn't say a good day!, it was cloudy and overcast most of the time I was there.
This made it a quiet day in the park and the car park which is usually bulging at the seams on a Sunday was strangely empty, I think people are al-ready getting the winter blues and we haven't had much Summer yet!.
On the plus side it was reported that we gained three new paid up members on the day so it wasn't all bad. see pictures of two of them in the club members gallery.
There was a good selection of warships on display and the people who did turn up seemed to be impressed with the number and types on show.
For those who couldn't manage it on the day here is a few pix's,
General view, I won't try and name the boats as I'm an ex-Army man myself.

And on the water.

Andy and his better half did an excellent job manning the Help 4 Hero's Stand.

Andy reported that the grand total taken on the day for the Fund was as follows

Hi all
Final count of donations and merchandising is £94 public donations,  £25 donation from Poppies and £59 from sale of merchandise.   Grand toal of £178 raised on behalf of Help 4 Heroes.   Not as good as we could have hoped for, but every little helps .
 Best Regards
Andy Glen

So another well planned and executed event crossed off the calender, let down again by the weather, but on the plus side enjoyed by the members, new members on the day and money raised for this very good cause.
Ps; Poppies the Buttie Wagon was on good form again with a good selection of food and drink at very reasonabell prices, thanks to them for the donation.
