Commodores Challenge 2015

Commodores Challenge 2015.

Commodores Challenge for 2015 is the same as last year,
Blind steering

It was stated that in these tight financial times it would be wise to do the same as last year, the commodore will be providing the Boat and Transmitter, all you have to do is turn up on the day and have a go!.
This is a good thing in that there are quite a few new members that haven't got a lot of spare Bitz-n- Bobz to make something for a one off event.
No excuse is there not to turn up and have a go on the day.

For those more competitive sailors there will also be a straight sailing event afterwards, so get your thinking caps on and see if you can improve on your previous efforts!.

Contact Al the Comm for any questions on these two events and good luck on the day!.

  1. Rather than blind steering, it is much more interesting to have steering from the radio controlled towed boat without driven power. It can be done around a set course with great skill since I have tried it and it would be an interesting event to include!
Also, now there are no fast boats allowed, how about Pop-Pop racing?

    Pop-Pop racing boat designs.

    Set course racing.

    Design 1.
Standard twin tube design with irregular pulses.

    Design 2.
Rotating valve water inlet for regular pulses at varying rates and much more powerful (I need to be further developed the system).

Other acceptable possibilities: Oscillating cylinder steam engine boat racing; Rubber racing; Clockwork racing.
