Message from the Commodore!. "8.3.2017.

I have received my second complaint this year about fast boats on the lake, the last one on Sunday 26/3/17.
I will now have to revue the future of fast boats on the lake, worst case scenario would be the lease being revoked.
The committee will meet on Monday 3/4/17 where I will put my views to my fellow members on this day.
Please remember this is a nature reserve for the wildfowl, all last year I received flack about fast boats, this resulted in me having to ask a member not to bring a certain boat, not a task I liked but first and foremost I have the interests of E.M.B.C. at heart. whatever actions are taken will be in the best interests of the club.
ALAN BREESE COMMODORE.

On a pleasanter note!.
Today at the lake it was quite busy and there was a mixture of sail and motorised vessels.

A couple of the regular yachtsmen.

One of our newer members, Mark Flinn.

Al the Comm's latest build finished!, one of his fastest builds he stated!.

Where was that camouflage type used?, do you know, if not ask Alan not me!, my lips are sealed.

Earlier in the week there was Eric with his latest scratch built Schooner.

And a scratch built tug he had built a while ago.

New prop, March18, 2017

For information

Just fitted a new prop to the rescue boat outboard motor.
Please take care as they are not cheap and hard to find in the UK.
Al the comm.

Nothing doing at the lake today, not surprised really as it was wet and quite windy!.
Not looking too good for the Steering Competition tomorrow with rain and wind again.
Funny isn't it when its steering, its windy and when its Fiesta racing there's invariably no wind!.
Its all in the game isn't it!.

Changes in the committee, March 2017.

The Andy Glen who was the club secretary has had to stand down due to health reasons, and I'm sure you will join me and the rest of the membership in thanking him for all his sterling work in that position which he took over from Velda Teal, 5 years ago!.

Geoff Garside, the treasurer has taken over all membership correspondence matters and it has been agreed that in future he will also look after all aspects of membership applications and renewals, including sending out membership cards.

Geoff's details ie Telephone number and address can be found in the club directory!

The position of Club secretary has been taken over by Paul Blyth, if you don't know Paul check out the committee pictures in the tabs under the header picture.
He makes beautiful warships as well!.

I'm sure this will also be announced at the next club meeting, so if I've not made it plain enough all will be revealed then!.

Ellesmere show 2017 part 2.

Ellesmere show 2017, Part 2.

On the upper floor with the trade stalls was this club with a mixed bag of Subs, boats and trucks

Also on the upper floor was

And as mentioned in previous post Mac's mouldings, I got my Narrow Boat bumpers there, I'm glad to say!.
Their desk top model with all their items for sale displayed

Potteries Model Boat club.

Wirral Model Boat club.
This chap said "All these beautiful model boats and all you are interested in is the Duck"
I didn't tell him "I'm Duckie" and have a better though smaller Duck than his!.
The boat on the left is also a model I've built, the 10 hatch coaster by Model Slipway, another enjoyabell build.

It is a whopper though isn't it, must have been to Etherow for all the bread given out there.

Kirklees MBC.

On our diary for a visit this year!, to their club waters.

Truck Club
with a nice sign!,
The trucks, don't ask the price, if you have to ask you can't afford it they say don't they?.

Model working truck engine complete with sound effect.

Hoylake MBC

Southport MBC
Some nice models here!

Narrow Boat complete in Lock!.

St Helens MBC

Liverpool MBC

There again making and showing his beautiful models was the chap with the Liverpool stand

Runcorn and District Scale MBC

Another Duck!, this one had a rudder same as the other one where as mine is tank steering and instead of a rudder turning, the head turns!.

Another of my favourites was this Aircraft carrier.

The plane lift comes up and there is a full military band playing "Life on the ocean waves".
Very nice modelling!.

Last but not least!.
Ellesmere MBC
Tucked away in a small area, you could easily have missed.

That's the only downside of this years show in my mind, if you hadn't been before and knew where all the Club stands were you could have easily missed some of  them which would have been a shame after all the effort the various club have put in the build, supply and transportation of their pride and joy's!.
Perhaps I didn't get a layout map, there was one wasn't there?.

Well that was a good start to the year hopefully it will carry on in the same way and if you didn't get to the show I hope this will encourage you to make it there next time.

The views in this post are just my view and perhaps not the same as others, but it takes all types doesn't it, what a world it would be if we were all the same hey!

Did you hear of the woman who confused her Valium with her birth control pills.
She now has 14 kids but doesn't really care!.

Did you hear of the constipated composer?, he got stuck on his last movement.

The cannibals eating a Clown.
One said to the other" Does this taste funny to you?".
