Hooton Park Boat Show - 16 and 17 May 2020

We have just heard that the Ellesmere Model Boat Club Show is on again this year, at Hooton Park, just off Junction 6 of the M53 at Ellesmere Port.

The Club will be taking a stand at this exhibition and George Barrett is already looking for entries from Club Members.

He is particularly interested in attracting boats from members who have not exhibited before, so why not give it a go ? Please contact George for more information. His phone number is in the Club Diary.

New Daytime Club Opening

Daytime Club Opening

Following requests from a number of members who find driving at night difficult, especially in the winter months, the Clubhouse will now be open to members during the day, once a month on the second Tuesday, between 10.00 a.m. and noon.

The Clubhouse bar will usually be open between these times.

Club Rules

Following a recent incident on the lake, resulting in a written complaint from a member of the public, the Committee wish to remind all members of the following Club rules concerning conduct on the lake:

  • The use of fast electric boats on the lake by any member is still banned, except under controlled Club 500 racing conditions, The decision as to what constitutes a fast electric boat will be made by the Committee, from which advice may be sought by any member in doubt.
  • Deliberate harassment of the wildlife on the lake is forbidden, and all reasonable care must be taken to stay clear of wildlife whilst sailing.

Infringement of either of these rules will result in serious action being taken by the Committee against the offender.
