Didn't go to Marple Locks Festival?.

Didn't go to Marple Locks Festival?.

In that case here is a report from our roving reporter Bob the Abell!.

Bob Abell News at Ten, Marple Locks Festival.

The club members were staggered when they clapped eyes on Lady Joyce, for the first time!
I was pleased when they placed her in the best spot on the stand too......Amid much merriment and leg pulling!
And when they looked inside Pandora's box..........Gasps of amazement and some had to be revived with the smelling salts
And when the motors were fired up!......It was just too much for them, and several jumped in the canal!
Only joking, chaps.......But the club members were very amused
The model was a feast for sore eye`s........They liked the Rogues gallery inside the cabin.......Photo`s of the build participants, as mentioned some time ago......And the miniaturised copies of Model Boats Magazine......With Great Eastern contents......Not to mention the tiny tins of coke lying about and all the other dolls stuff
The kids were excited, peeping through the windows
Didn't have a sail though, as the canal was far too busy with the full size craft
The day was roasting hot, so a leisurely pint was consumed in the local Navigation Pub.......Cheers!
Round about 3.30 pm, the sky suddenly went dark with a chill and an enormous belt of violent wind blasted through the showground and sorted the men from the boys!
All the flimsy Garden Gazebo`s and their contents were uprooted and hurled into eternity!
People were hanging on to their stands for dear life!
Head down, I battled my way back to the club stand, to find the back wall tables on the point of tipping over, models and all and a distinct shortage of club members. The Cavalry arrived in the nick of time and order was gradually restored
Luckily, Lady Joyce was on the front row and was spared any discomfort
Then followed, a mass exodus, in the howling wind and rain, but is was a miserable ending to a nice rural country show

David Lee 3rd, Andy Spencer 4th, Bob Dunkerley 5th,
George Taylor 6th .

Thanks to all of you for coming to sail.

See you all next month

David Lee. OOD

The new signage has been added to the benches by Al the Comm, spot the mistake!,

Nice large lettering, can't miss it hey.

Better than the lake water!.

In the previous week there have been various craft seen on the lake is your's one of them?.

Some of the Thursday crowd, the others scoffing Sausage butties in the excellent Cafe we have at our venue!.
...............................................................
A reminder from Al the Comm.
Lock up the box and replace the rope in front of the Ramp when you leave after your sail.
The park is a different place at night with some of the scallywags around and you wouldn't leave your front door open whilst you came to the lake would you?!.
