Bugsworth Gala

Bugsworth Gala - Saturday 6 July

The Club will be having a stand again at the Bugsworth Canal Basin Gala, and George Barrett, the Exhibitions Secretary, is now canvassing for entries.

Set up on Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning. We will have the big gazebo on site.

The organisers have promised parking slots slots for exhibitors.

This is always an excellent day out for the Club, with lots of water for sailing.

A date for Your Diary

Working Party - Tuesday 25 June

The rescue boat house on the landing Stage is in urgent need of some TLC. - Repairs are needed to the roller shutter door, the whole of the top needs re-felting and some Cuprinol on the rest will help to stave off ravages of the weather in the future.

Mike Hodgson has scheduled a working party for Tuesday 25 June. The help of  able bodied Club members will be welcomed. Meet on the landing stage at 10 a.m. Wear old clothes and bring whatever tools you think might be of help.

To work on the boat house roller shutter door, we may have to get wet, so anybody who can come with a set of waders, or lend us a set for the day, will be even more welcome.

If you can come, please let Mike know.

Charlie Smith Boat Sale - Results

Charlie Smith

The second round of the sale of Charlie Smith's boats, tools and modelling accessories was held at the last Club night on Wednesday 24 April.

The total raised over the two nights was £847. Of this total, the Committee have agreed with Charlie's family that they will receive £500, with the remaining £347 being donated by them to Club funds, in Charlie's memory.

Another big thank you to all of you who bid and bought, and a large debt of gratitude to Charlie's family for their generosity to the Club.

Commodore's Challenge - Part 2

Noodle Tug on The Water

As a spur to those of you who are thinking about entering this year's Commodore's Challenge to build a Noodle Tug, Geoff Garside has finished building a sample tug.

Here is a short video of it on the water today.

Don't forget that the Club will give you a free foam noodle to get you started, so there is no excuse for not entering the Challenge. Contact Geoff to get your own noodle. He will have some to hand out at the next club night - Wednesday 8 May.
