Report from John Berry
First Fiesta race of the year saw some close racing and
fickle winds as usual.
Phil borrowed John’s DF65 with an A rig when his fiesta
had problems. The A rig seemed to be on a par with the Fiestas. Ken brought a
DF65 with an A+ rig this looked a bit quick. I have noted the DF results but
said they cannot compete for the Fiesta Trophy. If we can get some more DF65
entries I will consider a separate DF 65
trophy. Note the Fiesta series is on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
Race 2 of the of the Fiesta series was held in good weather and light winds.
JB got away with some good (lucky) starts to take the
day.
Special mention to Dave Percy who after taking the
local scrapyard weight off the front of his jib boom went very fast by the end
of the day.
