Jet washing!.12.4.017.

If you were thinking of going to the lake sailing with your grandchildren on
Wednesday 12th April 2017, be advised that the landing stage will be being Jet washed around about 10-00am!.
The decision was made on a Wednesday as most members sail on Tuesday or Thursday and no one on Wednesdays, if you had thought of going this Wednesday make it the afternoon.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

This week at the lake,6.4.2017.

Wednesday.

After a pleasant morning at the lake chatting with friends and then checking out the landing stage where there was one of the members with his Grandchildren.

Nice well behaved young men, had a boat each that Granddad had made for them, though I was told that they helped as well, that's what we need in the club, or else what will become of the club when all us old codgers go to that big pond in the sky!

This was Granddad's boat, all high tech with his camera mounted on the front!.

Then as its school holidays, I left the lake early so I wouldn't be locked in with all the Grandparents bringing the kids for lunch at the cafe!
Good news for the Cafe, keeps it open, nothing sadder than a boarded up Cafe is there!.

Thursday.

There was I thinking that Eric didn't eat much and look at his lunch box on the right there!

A motorised boat on our lake.

Whilst some of the sailors were sailing their "J" and "One Metre's" on the big lake!.

Looks like sausage bap time on the landing stage!.

Why do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the drive and put our junk in the garage?.

Why do supermarkets make sick people walk to the back of the store to get their prescriptions, whilst the healthy ones can buy cigarettes at the front?.

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic wins lottery"?.

Tramper steamer, 3.4.2017.

Whist I was at the Ellesmere Model Boat Show this year with "Bob the Abell" we met David Lee who had just bought a steam engine!.
He said I've just got to make a boiler and all the other bits now!.
He was at the lake the other day and was giving his Tramp steamer it's maiden voyage and making sure everything was in working order before making and installing the deck and superstructure.

New steam engine, with home made condenser.

And here it is on the water.

Tramp steam under steam.
Thanks for the report Dave, nice to have someone's new build to post!
Does it have one of those steam whistles you can hear all round the park that everyone wonders where its coming from!.

A man goes into a DIY shop and asks for some bolts."How long do you want them?" asks the assistant.
"To tell you the truth" says the man, "I was rather hoping to keep them!"

How do you identify the people who can't count to ten?, simple!.
They're the ones in front of you in the supermarket express lane!!.
