Commodore's Challenge

Commodore's Challenge 2019

Noodle Tug

Our Commodore, John Berry, has published his Challenge for 2019.

You are challenged to build, and sail, a Noodle Tug.

For more details on these small, unsinkable boats, see the article Noodle Tugs in the February 2019 Issue of Model Boats magazine.

Full details of the Competition Rules can be downloaded from here.

You can obtain printed copies of both the original article and the Competition Rules direct from the Commodore, and the Club will supply you with a free foam noodle, on request.

The competition will be judged by the Commodore at the Club Summer BBQ on the evening of Wednesday 14 August. The competition will be judged on both artistic impression and sailing excellence around a course of the Commodore's choosing, and the winner will receive the Commodore's Challenge Trophy.

So get building - you only have four months !

Charlie Smith Boat Sale

Sale of Boats and Modelling Equipment

Following the death of Charlie Smith last month, his family have asked the Club to assist in the disposal of Charlie's collection of boats, modelling equipment, tools and materials.

These will be on display, and offered for sale, by auction,  at the next Club Night, Wednesday 10 April.

Mike Hodgson, the Social Secretary, is organising the sale and can give details of what will be on offer.

Proceeds of the sale will be divided between the Club and Charlie's family.

Those of us who knew Charlie will also know that he was a brilliant modeller and the quality of the items on sale will not disappoint. - Don't Miss it !
