Nigel Vogler
Many of you will remember Nigel Vogler, who died after a long battle with Cancer in February 2023.
His wife, Sheila has recently informed the Club the she would like to dispose of some of Nigel's boat collection to Club members, with all proceeds going to the Christie Charity, in memory of Nigel.
Nigel was an expert model builder, and all of his boats were built to a high standard.
The boats offered are now listed in the For Sale section of the site, and are well worth a look.
Scale Models on the Water Display
Saturday 11 October - 1.00 p.m.
By popular request, Bob McMenemie is organising another 'Scale Models on the Water' display, featuring Tugboats, Passenger, Military, Work and Fishing vessels.
Among our membership of nearly 100 within the Club, many members must have boats which have not seen the water for some while and are crying out to be sailed.
So bring them along to the lake at 1.00 p.m. on Saturday, 11 October and put them on the water in a grand parade.
The rescue boat will be in attendance to retrieve any vessels in difficulty.
Non-members of the Club are welcome to join in, under supervision of regular members.
Bob will be filming the event and the pictures and videos will be posted on the EMBC Power Group WhatsApp forum. If you are not already a member, and wish to join the forum, send a text message to Bob on 07527 306 859.

Commodore's Challenge
This year's Commodore's Challenge has just been published.
The Challenge this year is to build and sail a straight running boat to compete on a straight course from the landing stage, across the lake, to a fixed marker point. The boat must be built to a set of plans and rules drawn by Chris Galloway and available for download below.
No remote control of the boat is permitted. i.e. fixed throttle setting and rudder.
The winner will be the boat which comes closest to hitting the marker on the other side of the lake. The winner will be awarded the Commodore's Challenge Trophy.
If you need any further details, contact Chris Galloway [see Contacts page].
The competition sailing day is yet to be decided, but will not be before the middle of August.
