At the AGM on 11 December, Geoff Garside stepped down from the position of Hon. Treasurer of the Club after 16 years in office.

Chris Galloway was elected to succeed him as Hon. Treasurer, and will also take over the position of Membership Secretary.

Geoff will continue to act as webmaster for the Club Web Site.

The formal hand over of duties is scheduled for 01 January 2025, when all the formalities of changing bank account access permissions have been completed. Until then, Geoff should still be contacted about any financial or membership matters.

For those members wishing to pay their membership subscriptions for 2025 by direct bank transfer, our banking details will remain the same, and subscription levels for 2025 remain the same as 2024, namely:

            Standard                     £35

            Concession [65 plus]    £30

            Family                         £40

A further announcement will be made at the end of this month with contact details for Chris Galloway.

Shake off the excesses of Christmas !! 

The annual Frostbite Sail will take place this year on Friday 27 December, from 10.30 a.m.

All members and families are welcome, so come and join in the festivities.

Hot soup, coffee and mince pies will be served, courtesy of Mike H.

Please remember that the Club Annual General Meeting and prize giving for all of this year's competitions will be held in the clubhouse on Wednesday 11 December at 7.45 p.m.

All Club members are urged to make an effort to attend.

New Club 500 Boat Design

 New Club 500 Boat Design

In order to potentially attract new members to the Club 500 fast electric racing  boat series, John Senior has designed a new Club 500 racing boat, which he has published for other members to use.

As John is one of the Club's most successful racers, this should be a very competitive boat, and reasonably easy to build. The design and building instructions comprise 14 sheets of A2 [Full Size] and A4 PDF drawings which are available for free download from the Club 500 Racing page of this website. The download is in the form of a single .ZIP file, which will need to be unzipped after downloading.

Quiz Night

The Annual Quiz Night, postponed from earlier in the year, will now be held in the Clubhouse on Wednesday 9 October, starting at 8.00 p.m.

All members are welcome, with teams of four [maximum]. Prizes for the winners, and hot dogs will be served, courtesy of Mike Hodgson.

Beware - EMail Scam

Several members have reported that they have received EMails purporting to be from Chris Platford, attempting to persuade the recipients to part with money.

This is a scam. Somebody has gained access to Chris's EMail address book. Delete any such EMail immediately, and do not respond.
