Yacht's on the big lake.

Today at the lake there were quite a few of the members there, the sunny weather must have brought them out, even though the forecast wasn't very good.

Sailing on the big lake today as there was a bit more wind available.

George meets a couple of old friends, no doubt telling them all the pleasures of modelling and sailing!

Meanwhile back on our lake a few of the members enjoying the sunshine!.

Even Rob was there home from his travels.

Al the Comms boat.

The video today.

And its not all sat on Bum's, the old notice board came down today!, must have been a good job in its day as it was quite a struggle to move it!.
New one on the way.

You know when your getting old when:

The numbers in your little black book are all Doctors.

When the candles cost more than the cake.

Your ears are hairier than your head.

You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there.

You have a party and the neighbours don't even realise.

This week at the lake, 20.9.16.

This week at the lake, 20.9.16.

This week at the lake the weather has been beautiful for the time of the year, perhaps not as windy for the yacht sailors, but you can't have everything, would be nice if you could but that might be a bit boring after a while hey.

Buttie and equipment bags and the odd flasks cluttering up the benches, no wonder there's no room for boats!, the yachts are too big to be rigged on the bench though aren't they.

A few of the members present on the day, full of bacon and sausage butties.

Al the comm's "Dog Boat"

Took yards and yards of planking for the deck on this one.

Remember Trevor's "A" class yacht "Shere Khan" which had a metallic deck?,

Its been refurbished and now has a more traditional look to it, I thought it looked good before, there again I'm known for my liking off a bit of bling on my boats!.

Little and Large,
I even had my MicroMagic out with the big boys!.
Not many of these about on this side of the country, but plenty of them on the east coast where they are used for racing, same as we race Fiesta's, cheaper too.

"Don't even think about touching the boats or equipment" or "I'll have your arm off"

And who's been throwing their dummy out of the pram, any idea's?, all answers in a plain brown envelope to Al the Comm!!, only kidding!.

Watch this space!.
Next post, Al the Comm's visit to Bourneville, no not the chocolate factory, the Model submarine event!

This week at the lake, 16.9 2015.

This week at the lake, 16.9 2015.

Wednesday, saw Bob Abell and myself at the lake with his "Brutus" boat, a refit with two brush-less motors, I sailed it whilst Bob took the nice stills with his camera and then Bob sailed it whilst I took the video.
Nice mover isn't it!.
Pepe was in Bob's camper with Lady Joyce whilst we were enjoying ourselves, then we all retired to the Andrew Arms round the corner for dinner.

Thursday at the lake saw a full TT team plus a few others ie

A nice little refurbished tug boat that had been bought on EBay!.

Chris's navy model, you can get an idea of the scale by the duck in the background

The past week at the lake.

After the Fiesta racing on the first Sunday of the month, as you will see Charlie and Rob got their fast boats out and had a good run round the lake without having to worry about hitting anyone, but wouldn't you know it, they hit each other!.
Still no harm done only a blown fuse on Rob's big yella un!.

In the week met Lawrence trying out his new built yacht, built from a hull he had bought from a stranger who had arrived at the lake one day wanting to sell some boats and hull's found in his deceased fathers house.

Nice job Lawrence!.

Today (Monday 15th) there were some members doing a clean up on the Landing Stage.

Trevor an Ex decorator was using his expertise  painting, on the boat house and topbox
Paint the same colour as on the container we bought some time ago.

Under the benches were scrapped out and then Jet Washed
Nice and clean now

Then a couple of the lads moved over to the container and installed electric's in there, will be able to see in the winter evenings now to get the equipment out!.

Al the Electric!.

New signs have been ordered to go on the benches to remind everyone to use the frequency board unless they are on 2.4 ghz, temporary ones put in place until they arrive.

Good job fellers, hope its appreciated by all!.
