Last day of March 2016.

Last day of March 2016.

Today at the lake as well as the usual yacht sailors there was a newish member Nigel who had brought his scratch built fishing boat, he had plenty of deck clutter on it and has its one of my pet likes I asked him about the crew and he said he intended to crew the boat but hadn't got round too it yet as he'd only just finished the model!.
Nigel.

Plenty of detail in the cabin!.
Nice one Nigel, one for the next build competition I'm sure.
.........................................
Also there was Garth with his nice model Amenity!.

Plenty of detail again, as always with Garth's model's and lots of crew though not all working well!.

Giving it a bit of welly!

And last but not least there was Eric making good use of his lifting straps getting his
model out of the water after a good days sail and weather to match!
So it was a good day all round though it took a few hours for the wind to get going for the yachtsmen, still you can't please everyone as most of you know by now!.

Al the Comm is down with Man Flu, which as you know is worse than the Female variety, think he got too cold at Bugsworth, I'm sure you will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery!.

Doctor to patient, "I have to tell you that you have acute angina"
Patient, "Why thank you Doctor"

Patient to Doctor, "Tell me straight, is it bad?.
Doctor "Well I wouldn't start any new models".

2016 Diary and new clothing prices

2016 Diary and new clothing prices.

Please find the 2016 diary of events and shows in the top tabs!
Also there are a number of items in the clothing section that have changed, these are not extortionate but I guess reflected by the prices we have to pay for said items from manufacturers!.

Have you checked the "For Sale" section recently or are you still suffering from the terrible weather we have been having lately, there are a few nice new entries in there!.
We have been more fortunate that some of our friends in other clubs who have suffered from the terrible flooding of late, our thoughts go out to them and hope for a speedy return to normality.
I have been suffering from a heavy cold and bad chest recently but getting better now so will be back to the lake with the camera shortly, being this time of year though I don't think I've missed much!, though I'm sure the TT (Tuesday/Thursday) members have been at the lake well wrapped up and sailing as usual!.
Thank you all that have been asking about my absence and giving me a call at home much appreciated.

Here are some pictures of yesteryear to put you on until the better weather.

A tricky bit of the new landing stage edging strip.
The strings for keeping off the geese has prove excellent and the landing stage has never been cleaner.

The docking station.

Our stage at the Poynton Show, another good venue we will no doubt be revisiting in the future!.

A visitor to our lake recently, A Bean Goose, just passing through and checking out our beautiful venue no doubt!.

Well that's it for now, hopefully the weather will be picking up soon and we will get together at the lake in the near future!.

You know your getting old when.

The candles cost more than the cake.

The names in your little black book are mostly doctors

You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there.

Work is a lot less fun and fun is a lot more work.

You can live without sex but not without glasses.

That's all folks!

Frozen.

Frozen 2.2 2015

Today at the lake it was frozen, luckily there were no sailors to disappoint!.
So it was a walk round the lakes with the dog!.

Deserted

Skaters

Cormorants in the trees on the big island on the big lake.

No boats, but thought you would like the pictures by the fire, without the coldness.

If you want a good read on model boat projects read here.

Bob the Abell's present build, full illustrated in the Model Boats magazine forum, that should fill a few hours and give you some good tips on building plank on frame!.
