Past week at the lake!.

Past week at the lake!.
During the past week at the lake there was Lawrence White with his new build, a nice little Tug boat.
I think someone said it was a Mountfleet model?

Proud owner and that's his mates Southhampton Tug on the water in the background.

You moved Pepe!, at least I got the boat alright!.

On Saturday afternoon there was the Club 500 lads?, well they are young in heart anyway aren't they!.
Get ready!.

And their off!

The End.
and for some it's congratulations and for others, back to the drawing board, after all its only the start of the season and there's time to catch up!.
Thanks to Lee for the photos of the Club 500 event!.

I seems that the weather as started to brighten up, but temperature not climbing up yet.

Sunday sailing, 8.2.2015

Sunday sailing, 8.2.2015
This Sunday it was cold, dull with fog! and most important NO wind.
So there was no one there when I arrived, perhaps sailors had been and gone disappointed with the conditions, after a bite of lunch in the Cafe, saw someone on the landing stage so wandered across and met Norman Gibson who had arrived to pay his subs!.
He showed me his two new RTR tugs in the back of his car and then put this one on the water, the Barge is scratchbuilt from the packaging from the tugs, the other tug is the Southhampton of the same scale.

A note from the Exhibition Sec

To all the Club ‘Exhibitionists’
As it’s only a few weeks now to our first exhibition of 2015 I thought it might be a good idea to circulate all of those stalwarts who normally enjoy (if that’s the right word) putting a boat or two onto our club stand. I will be announcing the various events as usual at the club but it would be a great help if I know in advance who is likely to be able to commit to the various events for this year. Announcing the events on club nights only, as in the past, has proved to be a rather hit and miss affair when not everyone can always attend, so hopefully this will help. I appreciate that not everyone is on the internet so if you know of anyone who is interested but not contactable this way, or who has not exhibited before and would like to participate, please pass this on. I have a list of all the boats and people who have exhibited on our stand (to which this letter is circulated). If you are coming please fill in the information below and let me know as soon as you can. If you are exhibiting separately then it would still be helpful if I know. IMPORTANT – If you wish to enter a boat for judging at Ellesmere or Haydock, I have the application forms – I need to know now as the forms need to be send back ASAP. (Especially Ellesmere).
Dates 7/8th March Ellesmere Port
4/5th April Bugsworth Basin
5 th July Marple Locks
19th July Colwyn Bay
29/30th August Haydock Park
3/4th September Bugsworth Basin (provisional)
  12/13th December Poynton

1) Which shows will you be exhibiting at?
2) Name of boat/s
3) Value of boat/s

Thats all for now, please contact Gordon direct re; the above notice.

AGM 2014

A good night was had by all at the AGM 2014, with lots of members present and the bar doing a good trade, though these days it's mostly soft drinks unless you can get someone to taxi you there and back!.
The Commodore before handing over the proceedings to the various committee members thanked all the people who had donated equipment, trophies and their time to help the club over the past year!.

There was the usual large number of raffle prizes and everyone was glad to see the electronic counter in use, so there was no shouts of "Shake up the Bag".
The treasurer gave his report stating that even though we had got a new storage Container and motor for the rescue boat and various other things during the year we were still in the black to the point that the club funds for the coming year would stay the same as this year, and the year before that!, so that was good news for everyone!.
The Exhibition Secretary who has done a great job this year gave his report and stated that we had another new venue for the coming year ( see 2015 Diary in Tab at top of site) also the venue at Poynton were so happy this year, they wanted us back and wanted 20 tables next year!, so Gordon asked for more of the members to support these events to publish the club and generate more new members perhaps.

There is a couple of new positions on the committee this year see the Committee tab at the top.

A surprise for the Social Secretary was to be given a Lifetime membership for his untiring work for the club over many years. He hadn't known about it, so it was nice to see the surprise on his face!
  Mike the Man.

There on the night!

See the "Awards Tab 2014  at the top of the web to see the winners of the various sections this year and pictures of the members in case you don't recognize them or their names.
Clever and talented  people all of  them.

Over the weekend,Nov 2014

Over the weekend, Nov 2014.

If you haven't noticed yet!, there are some of the events the club will be involved in next year in the tabs at the top of the site.

You will notice that there is a new Venue at Bugsworth Canal Basin, and Commodore Alan not the type to let the grass grow under his feet went to see for himself, and you of course!.

Had a run up to Bugsworth on Saturday, met one of the organisers a really nice spot looking forward to the event.
Commodore Al.

And a local watering hole next door, can't be bad!.

Thanks for that Commodore Al, looking forward to the event as well.

On the Sunday there was an Impromptu Steering event, which was a carry over from the event that should have been at Lyme Park Show earlier in the year but was rained off.

The Higham brothers plus Geoff and all those in the image took part, congratulations to the winners and participants, the weather didn't look too clever by the way they are wrapped up there, but still all smiling.

Thats all for now folks, feeling better now so will see you all back at the lake soon.
